The organizations behind the case against PHILIP M.
The criminal complaint against PHILIP M. is being filed on behalf of the Youth Smoking Prevention Foundation. The Netherlands Cancer Institute/Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (NKI/AVL) expresses its support for this effort.
Youth Smoking Prevention Foundation
Youth Smoking Prevention aims to make smoking a thing of the past by ensuring that children do not start smoking. Since 2009, the foundation has been advocating for effective regulations to protect children from nicotine addiction.
Through documentaries, campaigns, lawsuits, the TabakNee website, and political lobbying, it draws attention to the true nature of the tobacco industry and the need to protect new generations from it.
Rookpreventie Jeugd was founded by pulmonologists Wanda de Kanter, formerly of NKI/AVL, and Pauline Dekker, formerly of the Red Cross Hospital.
Youth Smoking Prevention works closely with the Health Funds for a Smoke-Free Netherlands, including the Lung Fund, KWF Cancer Society, and the Heart Foundation; Doctors Sound the Alarm, supported by the KNMG medical federation; and Vaping #yourchoice.

The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is a specialized hospital and research institute in the field of cancer. The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) is the research institute. Together, they combine cancer care and scientific research.
The tobacco/nicotine industry has only one goal: to get children hooked, preferably as early as possible. No one starts using nicotine after the age of 25.
